What is a WhatsApp broadcast?
A WhatsApp broadcast is a single message delivered to many customers at the same time. Each one receives it as a private chat, and no recipient can see the others. Inside the WhatsApp app, broadcast lists only reach people who saved your number. Over the official WhatsApp Business API, the message goes out as a Meta-approved template to every customer who agreed to hear from you, saved number or not. RevoplyAI sends those API broadcasts from $9 a month and passes every reply to your AI assistant.
How much does a WhatsApp broadcast cost?
There are two bills, and they never mix. RevoplyAI bills one flat plan price. Meta bills you for every template it delivers, at the rate for the recipient's country code, charged directly to the payment method on your own WhatsApp Business account. Meta's rate passes through with nothing added, and that bill never touches us.
The daily figure counts messages, one per recipient. Starter's 50 a day therefore reaches roughly 1,500 customers a month, and a 300-contact list takes six days to go out. When a day's allowance runs dry halfway, the remainder of the list resumes at the same time the following day. Pay yearly and two months are free, which brings Starter to $90 a year.
Broadcasts on Telegram draw from the same daily allowance and pay no Meta fee whatsoever. Meta's current per-country rates are in our breakdown of WhatsApp Business API pricing.
| Plan | Price | Broadcast messages |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | Not included |
| Starter | $9 a month | 50 a day |
| Pro | $29 a month | 500 a day |
| Business | $59 a month | No daily cap |
What are WhatsApp's broadcast limits?
The sending route decides. A broadcast list inside the WhatsApp app caps at 256 contacts and delivers only to people who saved your number, which is why app broadcasts so often appear to disappear. In the WhatsApp Business app, Meta now also prices business broadcasts per message, by each recipient's country.
Both rules fall away on the API. Recipients never have to save your number, and no 256-contact ceiling applies to a list. Meta does cap how many distinct customers your templates may reach in a rolling 24 hours: 250 for a new account, climbing as your quality rating holds. Your RevoplyAI plan's daily figure sits on top of that cap, and if your list will not fit into the days you chose, the scheduler tells you before anything sends.
Who can you send a WhatsApp broadcast to?
Only customers who agreed to hear from you: the ones who bought something, made a booking, or asked for updates. Meta's policy requires that consent, and messaging strangers is the quickest route to blocks and reports, which drag your quality rating down.
RevoplyAI keeps the list clean on your behalf. A customer who replies "stop" is unsubscribed immediately, gets a confirmation, and is skipped by every later broadcast; "start" puts them back in. Text broadcasts on Telegram also include a one-click unsubscribe link. WhatsApp templates go out word-for-word as Meta approved them, so build the opt-out line into the template itself.
What happens when customers reply to a broadcast?
A broadcast earns its keep here, and this is exactly where most bulk senders fall short. Every reply arrives in your shared inbox, where the AI answers from your knowledge base: price, stock, delivery, opening hours. Anything only a person can decide is handed to your team together with the full conversation history.
Replies wait in the inbox with no AI answer for the first ten minutes after a send. That quiet window keeps the assistant from trading messages with other businesses' auto-responders, and it is adjustable from 30 seconds to an hour.
Is broadcasting safe for my WhatsApp number?
On the official API, yes, provided the list opted in and the message is relevant to them. Meta tracks recipient reactions. Blocks at a steady rate pull your quality rating down, and a low rating cuts your messaging limit.
Pacing makes it safer. Rather than firing the entire list at once, RevoplyAI shuffles the order and sends a random count each day within the window you choose. Presets run from Gentle (5 to 20 a day across five days) up to Fast (60 to 150 a day across two), or you define the range yourself. The full checklist is in our guide to sending bulk WhatsApp messages without getting banned.
WhatsApp broadcast list, group, or broadcast tool?
A group exposes every member's number to all the others, which rules it out for customers. An in-app broadcast list keeps chats private yet reaches saved contacts only. A broadcast tool on the API reaches everyone who opted in, and each conversation stays private.
| WhatsApp group | App broadcast list | RevoplyAI broadcast | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recipients see each other | Yes | No | No |
| Must have saved your number | No | Yes | No |
| Scheduled, paced sending | No | No | Yes |
| Opt-outs handled for you | No | No | Yes |
| Replies answered by AI | No | No | Yes |
A broadcast, and the reply it earns
Hi Sara, the linen shirts are back in stock in every size. Reply here and we'll set one aside for you until Thursday.
10:00Is the white one available in L? And does delivery reach Jeddah?
10:24Yes, the white in L is available at 149 SAR. Jeddah delivery runs 2 to 3 days and costs 25 SAR. Want me to set one aside?
10:24Please do
10:25All set, it's reserved in your name until Thursday. Someone from our team will message you shortly to sort out payment.
10:25Message one is an approved template. Everything after it is the AI replying from the store's own knowledge base, then handing the order to the team.
WhatsApp broadcast message examples
- Hi {{1}}, the black abaya is back in size M. Reply "reserve" and we'll keep one aside for you until Friday.
- Eid opening hours: 4 pm to 1 am every day this week. Send us any question and our assistant answers straight away.
- Hi {{1}}, your car's service falls due this month. Tell us a day that suits and we'll lock in a slot.
- The weekend menu is here: three dishes at 15% off for WhatsApp customers. Reply "menu" and we'll send it over.
Every example closes with a reason to reply, since replies are what the AI answers and what converts a broadcast into orders. {{1}} is replaced by the contact's name at send time.

WhatsApp broadcasts: frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to send a WhatsApp broadcast?
Broadcast-capable RevoplyAI plans begin at $9 a month with 50 broadcast messages a day. Pro costs $29 for 500 a day, Business $59 with no daily ceiling. For WhatsApp, Meta separately bills each delivered template at the recipient-country rate, straight to your own WhatsApp Business account. Nothing per message comes from us.
Can I send broadcasts on the free plan?
No. The free Basic plan includes AI replies, the shared inbox and all channels, while broadcasts begin at Starter. Build and test the assistant for free, then upgrade the same day you send broadcast number one.
Do my customers need to save my number to get the broadcast?
Not through RevoplyAI. The saved-number rule applies to broadcast lists inside the WhatsApp app. Over the official WhatsApp Business API, broadcasts reach every opted-in customer regardless of whether they saved your number.
Do I need an approved template for every WhatsApp broadcast?
Yes. Any message that opens a conversation needs a pre-approved template, per Meta's rules, and every WhatsApp broadcast opens one. Templates can be created and submitted to Meta from within RevoplyAI, variables and an image, video or PDF header included.
Can I import my contacts from Excel?
Yes, once the sheet is saved as CSV. The importer picks up name, phone and email columns along with Telegram IDs, and can tag the whole file in a single pass. Every paid plan includes contact import.
Can I send broadcasts on Telegram too?
Yes. The same screen sends broadcasts over the official WhatsApp Business API and over Telegram, drawing on one shared daily allowance. On Telegram they are text or an image with a caption, with no Meta fee attached.
